More Than Just A Credit Union

We're Supportive Neighbors.

Adventure Credit Union has proudly supported our communities ever since our beginning in 1936. It’s the essence of the credit union philosophy: people helping people. We are involved at many levels from raising money for a cause or organization, putting a team together for cancer walks, gathering gently used winter gear to share with those in need, our scholarship program, to our corporate level sponsorships.

At Adventure, we are grateful to have such caring and generous members and staff. We are more than a credit union…we are the people we serve. And that’s the most powerful thing credit unions do.

On behalf of the members of the credit union, checks were presented in December, 2016, to Access of West Michigan and the Greater Lansing Food Bank. We are fortunate to have these organizations in our communities that help people who are struggling to feed their families.

Adventure Credit Union President, Steve Bush, said, "Adventure Credit Union members have always supported our communities ever since our beginning in 1936. We believe in the credit union motto of people helping people and are grateful to have such caring and gracious members. Adventure Credit Union is proud to contribute to the Access of West Michigan and the Greater Lansing Food Bank efforts during this holiday season."

The Dollars for Scholars Scholarship is a competitive based scholarship available for high school seniors bound for college or vocational schools who are members or are related to a member of Adventure Credit Union with membership affiliation of at least 1 year prior to application. Ele's Place is a nonprofit, community-based organization whose mission is to create awareness of and support for grieving children and their families. Adventure Credit Union is a proud supporter of Ele's Place, in both the Grand Rapids and Lansing regions.

Through peer support group programs, Ele's Place helps children cope with the death or life-threatening illness of a parent, sibling or other close family member or friend. Children ages 3 to 18 and their parents or guardians are welcome. Regardless of family income, there is no fee for any services. If you or someone you know can benefit from the services of Ele's Place, email Ele's Place at

Throughout the year the Adventure Credit Union staff volunteers at Kid’s Food Basket, preparing sack lunches for those in need.

Each week day, Kid’s Food Basket delivers nearly 7,500 Sack Suppers.  Not only do these Sack Suppers provide a well-rounded nutritious meal, they also help brighten each child’s day!  Credit Union staff volunteers time to decorate sacks with a positive messages and cheerful illustrations.

This year we participated in the Go Orange Campaign, on March 24th our employees wore orange to support hunger awareness and brought in food donations to donate toward the Sack Suppers.  We also dined at area restaurants, which donated a portion of their proceeds back to Kid’s Food Basket.

Childhood hunger affects the whole community – and we are proud to play a small part of the solution.

Adventure Credit Union is a proud partner and supporter of Habitat for Humanity Capital Region with their Rock the Block event and sponsorship of the Ramp Program. Habitat for Humanity helps families to break the cycle of poverty and build long-term financial security.
