To finalize the merger of Astera into Adventure Credit Union, we will be completing system integrations over the Halloween weekend.

Our team will work diligently to complete this process as swiftly as possible.  If services are restored sooner, we will send email update(s) to notify you.  Thank you in advance for your understanding!

What will be available:

While we are completing the system integration, you will still have access to:
  • Debit and credit cards will continue to work
  • Electronic deposits and payments will continue to process, although the timing may be different than what you are used to.

What will be unavailable:

During the maintenance period:
  • Astera members will not be able to access their accounts in a branch or via Shared Branching.  The Ionia, DeWitt, Jolly Road, and Saginaw Highway branches will be closed on 11/1.
  • Astera members will not be able to access digital banking from 6pm on Friday, Oct. 31 until, as late as, 9am on Monday, Nov. 3rd.
If systems are restored sooner, we will notify you via email.  Please make sure your email address on file is up to date!

How to plan ahead:

Together we can limit the inconvenience of this planned event by making the following preparations before 5:00pm on Friday, Oct. 31st.
  • Before digital banking goes offline, please write down your account balances.
  • If necessary, keep track of your purchases during the maintenance period to avoid overdrafting your account. 
    • Note: any alerts you may have configured will not be sent.
  • Please have access to a back-up payment method such as cash, checks, or a payment card from another financial institution.
  • If you need to visit a branch for any reason, please be sure to do so on or before Friday, Oct. 31st.

How will the merger affect me?

In many ways banking with Adventure Credit Union will be the same as banking with Astera.
  • Account and routing numbers will not change.
  • Astera-branded debit and credit cards will continue to work until their expiration date.  Prior to expiration, new Adventure-branded cards will automatically be issued.
  • Astera-branded checks will continue to work.
  • All automatic payments and deposits will carry over.
  • All Bill Pay payees and scheduled/recurring payments will carry over.
As a new Adventure member, you will notice some differences, but these changes are largely positive.
Given all that is happening right now, let's not lose sight of why Astera is merging into Adventure Credit Union.  Together, we are a stronger credit union and better positioned to meet the evolving needs of our members and communities.  Member benefits include:
  • An extended hours contact center that is available to take your calls until 11pm on weeknights and 5pm on Saturdays.
  • 5 new branches in the Grand Rapids area
  • 1 new branch location in Lansing
  • Enhanced digital services including Credit Sense and My $ Snapshot
  • Expanded products and services like Edge Checking and Spare Change Savings
