Building a CD ladder can be a useful tactic to personalize your savings strategy.  CD laddering involves buying CDs that mature at staggered dates, rather than a single long-term CD.  For example:

- 6-month CD at 4.000% APY*
- 12-month CD at 4.250% APY*
- 18-month CD at 4.300% APY*

Schedule an appointment to build your CD ladder at your local Adventure branch.  Or learn more about opening new CDs online.

CD laddering addresses common concerns that savers have, such as: what if rates increase while my money is locked in?  What if an emergency happens and I need cash?

The laddering strategy provides several benefits:

  • Liquidity: Your cash will be available to you at frequent intervals
  • Flexibility: You can decide how you want to split up your investments
  • Better interest rates: You’ll be able to choose longer-term CDs with higher rates and still have certificates maturing on a regular basis
  • Peace of mind: If interest rates go up, you’ll have cash to invest in new CDs. And if rates fall, you still have money invested in long-term CDs that come with higher rates
Don't forget to Schedule an appointment at your local Adventure branch to get started with your CD ladder!

If you are not yet a member of Adventure Credit Union, you are still welcome to take advantage of our special CD rates.  In fact, you can open your credit union membership and certificate of deposit account at the same time entirely online with our secure Membership application.  Becoming a member only requires a $5 share deposit.

Adventure Credit Union is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in the following counties: Allegan, Barry, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Kent, Livingston, Newaygo, Ottawa, and Shiawassee.

Who is Adventure Credit Union?

Simply put, we're like a bank but better!  Like a bank, we offer financial services: personal loans, mortgages, savings accounts, checking accounts, and more.  Unlike a bank, we're a not-for-profit organization owned by our members.  This means, we work in the best interest of our members (i.e., accountholders) rather than investors.  Our non-profit status allows us to offer the best rates and keep our account fees to the bare minimum.  When you open a share account with Adventure Credit Union, you'll never be charged a minimum balance fee or an account maintenance fee.
